2003 through January 2005, Dylan remained in the top 10
out of roughly 200,000 independent acts on
Garage
Band’s “All Time Best Guitars” list. Garage Band is the
largest
online distributor of independent music
Dylan has jammed
with Mary Flower, and performed shows
with Leftover
Salmon, The Dirty Dozen Brass
Band, The Asylum Street
Spankers, Garaj
Mahal, Roy Rogers and The
Delta Rhythm Kings, Shana Morrison, and Todd
Snider.
Derek Sivers,
owner of CD Baby, listed Dylan as one
of CD Baby’s top
local artists in a feature article that appeared in The Oregonian on
October 6, 2003. CD Baby is the world’s leading online
independent music retailer.
KRCL Radio in Salt Lake City,
Utah requested permission to include
Dylan’s music on their 2003 compilation CD which comprises the best of
their live in-studio recordings.
Dylan performed
at the 2003 & 2004 Portland Waterfront Blues
Festival,
along
with artists such as Etta James, Susan Tedeschi, and Taj Mahal. One of
the largest blues festivals in the world, the WBF typically draws over
125,000 people.
In February of
2003, Dylan’s song “Old Man Devil” was featured on the
nationally syndicated radio show Blues Deluxe, which airs on over
100
stations nationwide.
In 2003, Dylan
competed in The International Blues Challenge. After winning The Cascade Blues
Association’s
Journey To Memphis competition, Dylan became one of just over 50 acts
culled from thousands around the world to compete in the
prestigious International Blues Challenge held in
Memphis each year by The Blues Foundation.
In January of
2003 Dylan performed live on television on CBS’ Memphis
affiliate WREG and was interviewed along with Wesley Smith of The Blues
Foundation.
